From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a wide array of heroes, and a exciting storyline showcasing celestial beings, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in power within the city.
Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of this adventure are included.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.
Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear out of place, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, entering the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and advises that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could assist the group enter areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the army of fiends they are aligned with.

This results in them few options but to journey toward the remote area in search of the antagonist.
